Form guide

Barcelona

Hansi Flick's side are perfect in the league: nine games, nine wins, 27 points and a five-point lead over Atlético. Their midweek, though, was rough. They lost 4-2 at Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, conceding twice in the last ten minutes, and lost Dani Olmo to injury in the first half.

Real Madrid

José Mourinho's side have already lost twice in the league, which is why they're third on 21 points. Europe is going much better. They beat Leipzig 4-1 on Wednesday to make it three wins from three in the Champions League, and Kylian Mbappé has 12 goals this season.

Team news

Barcelona: Dani Olmo (adductor) is out for around a month, so Fermín López should come in. Eric García (thigh) is out for three to four weeks and Andreas Christensen is unavailable. Jules Koundé missed the PSG game with an ankle sprain but could be back. Raphinha is fit again after a hamstring problem.

Real Madrid: Vinícius Júnior is suspended after his red card against Villarreal. Rodrygo (knee ligament) and Raúl Asencio (broken leg) are out, and Ferland Mendy is a doubt.

Possible line-ups

These are projections from pre-match reports, not confirmed teams. The official line-ups come out about an hour before kick-off.

Barcelona: Joan García; Xavi Espart, Gerard Martín, Pau Cubarsí, João Cancelo; Rodri, Pedri; Lamine Yamal, Fermín López, Anthony Gordon; Raphinha.

Real Madrid: Courtois; Valverde, Huijsen, Konaté, Cucurella; Tchouaméni, Arda Güler; Endrick, Bellingham, Yan Diomande; Mbappé.

Recent Clásicos

Barcelona have won four of the last five. They won 2-0 and lost 2-1 in La Liga last season, beat Madrid 3-2 in the Spanish Super Cup, and in 2024/25 won 4-3 in the league and 3-2 in the Copa del Rey.

What is at stake

A lot. If Barcelona win, they go nine points clear of Madrid after ten games. If Madrid win, the gap is down to three and the title race is very much alive. The live La Liga table updates during the game.
