Form guide
Liverpool
Liverpool beat Brighton 2-0 at Anfield on Sunday. Both goals came before half-time: Florian Wirtz's shot deflected in off Pascal Groß, then Alexander Isak scored from Bradley Barcola's cross. The bad news? Wirtz picked up an ankle problem in that game.
Chelsea
Chelsea had a rough Saturday. They lost 2-0 at home to Tottenham, and Cole Palmer was sent off. So they come to Anfield needing a response, and without their best player.
Team news
Liverpool: Dominik Szoboszlai and Jeremie Frimpong are out. Florian Wirtz (ankle) and Víctor Muñoz are doubts.
Chelsea: Cole Palmer is suspended after his red card. Emiliano Martínez (jaw) and Reece James (knee) are out, and João Pedro is a doubt. Mike Penders is expected to start in goal.
The official line-ups come out about an hour before kick-off.
What is at stake
A quarter-final place, and a quick chance for Chelsea to move on from Saturday. With both sides missing key players and likely to rotate, it's a hard one to call. Every other tie this week is in our Carabao Cup fourth round guide, and Arsenal's trip is covered in our Fleetwood vs Arsenal preview.
