After that game, Enzo Maresca gave five senior players three days off: Erling Haaland, Elliot Anderson, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Joško Gvardiol and captain Rúben Dias. With games this close together, he has already said he'll make changes.

Brighton

Brighton have scored more Premier League goals than anyone this season, though they lost 2-0 at Liverpool on Sunday. In the last round of this competition they were 2-0 down at Old Trafford and still won 3-2. So no, a rotated City side won't scare them.

Team news

Man City: Gerónimo Rulli starts in goal, Maresca confirmed. It will be his second appearance for the club. Expect plenty of fresh faces, with the final call made after Tuesday's training session.

Brighton: Stefanos Tzimas (knee ligament), Evan Ferguson (ankle) and Kaoru Mitoma (hamstring) were already ruled out before the Liverpool game.

The official line-ups come out about an hour before kick-off.

A place in the quarter-finals, plus a small head start for Saturday, when Brighton come back to the Etihad in the Premier League.
