Dortmund lead Bayern as the Bundesliga returns

Borussia Dortmund have won all four of their league matches and open the weekend at home to Werder Bremen on Friday night. Bayern are two points back, with the better goal difference.
The Bundesliga is first back from the international break, and it restarts on Friday night with the team at the top of it. Borussia Dortmund host Werder Bremen at half past seven, German time.
Dortmund have won all four of their league matches so far. Twelve points from twelve, and a goal difference of plus seven.
Bayern are two points behind on ten, having drawn one of their four. The interesting part is what sits next to that: a goal difference of plus twelve, five better than Dortmund's. Bayern have scored more freely than anyone and still find themselves second, which is the sort of detail that tends to even itself out over a season.
Saturday afternoon has all five remaining matches kicking off together at half past three. Augsburg, fourth on seven points, host Bayern. Mainz play Leverkusen, St. Pauli face Stuttgart, Union Berlin take on Elversberg and Hoffenheim meet Hamburg.
Four matches is not much to go on. Dortmund's lead is built on a start, not a season, and the league behind them is tight — Freiburg are also on ten points, and only five separate second place from fifth. But a perfect record is a perfect record, and Friday night is the first chance anyone has had in a fortnight to end it.
