Europa League: Bournemouth beat ten-man Milan 3-0 as Palace and Sunderland draw

Bournemouth beat ten-man Milan 3-0 to make it three wins from three, Crystal Palace drew 2-2 in Istanbul, Sunderland drew 1-1 in Poland and Brighton were held 0-0 at Jablonec.
Three wins from three. Not bad for a club in its first ever European campaign. Bournemouth were the story of Thursday night, beating Milan 3-0 at the Vitality Stadium, while Crystal Palace, Sunderland and Brighton all drew.
Justin Kluivert scored a penalty after eight minutes, given when Evanilson's header hit a raised arm. Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan was then sent off before the half-hour for a foul on Tyler Adams, and Marcus Tavernier scored a second penalty on 32. Amine Adli finished it off with a late free kick. Milan didn't manage a single shot on target. Bournemouth are the first English side to win their first three European games since Sunderland in 1973-74.
Palace came from behind in Istanbul, then let it slip. Wilfred Ndidi gave Beşiktaş the lead in first-half stoppage time. Yeremy Pino equalised after VAR overturned an offside flag, and Jean-Philippe Mateta made it 2-1 four minutes later. Junior Olaitan levelled on 73, and Beşiktaş held on even after Ümit Akdağ was sent off late on. Palace have four points from three games.
Sunderland are still unbeaten in Europe, but they should have won in Poznań. Timur Tutierov headed them in front after two minutes, his first goal for the club, and they had chances to put the game away. Leo Bengtsson came off the bench to equalise for Lech on 70 minutes.
Brighton's six-game winning run ended with a 0-0 draw at Jablonec. Fabian Hürzeler made eight changes, Malick Yalcouye had a goal ruled out for offside, and Bart Verbruggen had to make saves at the other end. That's still five clean sheets in a row.
Elsewhere in the Europa League, Hoffenheim beat Lyon 3-0, Real Sociedad won 6-0 at Lillestrøm, Juventus drew 2-2 with Rennes and Celtic lost 2-1 at home to Celta. In the Conference League, Ajax beat Atalanta 2-0, Monaco beat Freiburg 3-0 and Hearts lost 2-0 at Trabzonspor.
