Mbappé double sinks Barcelona as Bournemouth win 3-0 at Old Trafford

Kylian Mbappé scored twice as Real Madrid won 2-1 at Camp Nou and ended Barcelona's perfect La Liga start. Liverpool beat Brighton 2-0, and Bournemouth won 3-0 at Manchester United.
Kylian Mbappé settled El Clásico. Real Madrid won 2-1 at Camp Nou on Sunday night, and Barcelona's perfect start in La Liga is over after nine straight wins.
The opener was a scrappy one. Yan Diomande crossed on 41 minutes, Gerard Martín tried to clear, and the ball came off Mbappé and went in. Lucky? A bit. Barcelona hit back on 61 minutes when Pedri slipped Raphinha through and he beat Andriy Lunin.
Then Madrid found the winner. After a bit of skill from Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga cut the ball back and Mbappé finished on 87 minutes. It was Real's first win in Barcelona in three years.
Barcelona are still top, but Madrid are now three points behind them. Atlético, who beat Deportivo 1-0 on Saturday, sit two points off the lead. Suddenly this looks like a three-team race.
In the Premier League, Liverpool beat Brighton 2-0 at Anfield. Manchester United had a much worse afternoon. Bournemouth won 3-0 at Old Trafford, a heavy home defeat that will hurt.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Newcastle won 2-0 at Crystal Palace, Hull drew 1-1 with Brentford and Sunderland and Leeds finished 0-0. In Spain, Athletic Club beat Getafe 4-0, Real Sociedad beat Levante 2-1 and Celta and Betis drew 0-0.
Next up is the Carabao Cup fourth round. Arsenal visit Fleetwood on Tuesday, and Liverpool host Chelsea on Wednesday.
